It is not uncommon to be physically separated from a computer you wish to access. Whether you wish to quickly grab a file from your home computer, or you wish to access a honeypot system from the other side of a city to check logs, SSH is the most readily available solution. But in a security conscious field such as this, the inherent risks are enough to make one a little paranoid about punching a hole in their firewall for the service. To mitigate the risks, I've compiled a list of security techniques ranging from the simple to the complex, and the trivial to the iron-wall-secure.

Do old attacks go away ?
Did you ever think that your software is old and new attacks will not work on it ? did you get the impression that
attackers became sophisticated and target money or identity theft that oldr attacks disapeared ?
You might reconsider the idea, because our honeynet captured traffic suggests otherwise, even good old et messenger service on UDP ports 1026 and 1027 popping a message on windows machines running the service.
The annoying message try to convince the user that the computer is infected and he needs to go to a certain website
to fix his computer.

IPv6 Vs OSI
Just thinking about the new embedded functionalities in IPv6 AKA IPng
the OSI layers will definitely need to be redefined.
so maybe we will see an "IPv6 model"
Just when will we see more implementation of IPv6, will the Asian adoption of the new protocol take our hand
to move forward, remains to be seen

Why the IP ranges ?!
The IP ranges as specified A,B,C,D makes one ask why they are in those ranges,
actually the answer is pretty straight forward if we convert them into bits, you can start seeing the pattern,
after all the computers use IP more than we do, and since they think binary, then its binary that counts
Class A
Decimal : 0.0.0.0 - 127.255.255.255
Binary : 0000 0000.0000 0000.0000 0000.0000 0000 - 0111 1111.1111 1111.1111 1111.1111 1111
Honeynet & legislation
Honeypots have applications in the Production as well as the Research domain. In the production network they provide a good indication of your security holes and how your application and network setup can be compromised. In research it is a discovery tool to study new vulnerabilities and attack techniques.
Honeywall menu
Installing the honeywall Roo on a virtual machine and a real machine me and a colleague got the same error
when choosing the interface, I get an error,
Basically when you do ifconfig the interfaces are up, however the menu cannot see them
will update of any findings
